Whether you are looking for a fully operational role as a Firefighter and/or EMT, or equally critical roles as a member of our auxiliary, support team or administration — the MGVFC has a place for you.
The Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company offers many ways for you to participate in our dedicated commitment to service. From battling fires on the front line to giving life-saving emergency medical care to a patient in need or simply assisting in our fundraising efforts far away from the hectic stresses of an emergency scene, we have a way for you to be involved and giving back to YOUR community. We provide free training for everyone – from the seasoned veteran to folks coming into the fire service for the first time.
These members perform all tasks related to firefighting. They respond to a wide range of calls including fires, accidents, chemical spills, technical rescues, public service calls and more. Many firefighters are also EMTs.
These members ride as operational members and provide emergency medical care. Most of our calls for service involve some sort of EMS care and our EMS members provide that vital service to the community.
These individuals help with fundraising, special BINGOs, bookkeeping, finance, logistics, building maintenance, public outreach, and many other areas. They are vital to the success of our organization.
The three membership types above require specific training to fully function in that specific role. There is a serious time commitment to get through the training, but our organization provides support and assistance when needed. Training will be provided for all members free of charge through the Maryland Fire Rescue Institute. Additional training will be provided by the MGVFC throughout the year, typically Monday evenings, to maintain your active participation within our organization.
